Ruby (aka Pooter) is approx. 4 years old and has been in foster care for most of her life. She was rescued as a young puppy. At the time of rescue Ruby was extremely scared and still remains a timid and very shy girl. For this reason, we feel that Ruby would do best in a home without small children. Ruby does best in the company of other dogs, so ideally she would be happiest in a forever home with another confident dog or dogs (to help her come out of her shell). Because of Ruby's insecurities, we feel she would not do well as a first time pet, but rather would benefit from an experienced dog owner.  Although Ruby does not have any physical "special needs", she does require special handling because of her insecurities.  Ruby is a special girl, in search of that extra special home, where her special needs can be met...could that home be yours?

HOPE for Animals' dog adoption fee is $100. This includes initial vaccinations and spay/neuter. All dogs adopted through HOPE must have a fenced yard. Other pets in the household must be spayed/neutered and a good vet reference is required.

Special Needs: Ruby does not have any physical special needs, however she does have some emotional special needs….being a dog with extreme fears and insecurities. Because of Ruby's extreme insecurities and fear issues, she will not be able to be placed in a home unless it is with someone who is experienced with dogs of this nature. We are not ruling out the possibility of adoption or that Ruby will one day find her "forever" home, however, to be realistic, it will need to be just the right match with someone who has the skills, environment, time and patience Ruby will need to help her overcome some of her fears and insecurities.
